Design Works

My Process

Mood Board/Concept Sketches

The project began with visual research and mood boards, finding what works in packaging designs and what doesn't. The visual research also included going to a grocery store to see the trends and competition in organic meat packages. This research allowed me to move forward with creating concepts for designs and sketches.

Natural Meat Co. prides themselves on being family-owned and operated,
their goal for this product was to achieve an organic, price-friendly appeal.
With Natural Meat Company’s goal in mind, I designed a package able to communicate organic traits in a educational manner while remaining eye-catching to passing-by customers. With vibrant greens, oranges, blue and
yellow, this new line of organic sandwich meat brings a healthy light to your grocery shopping experience. The illustration on the face panel brings the production story back to it’s origin. The substrate the package is made of is able to biodegrade and bring life to plants after disposal, driving home that environmental company value. The logo represents the running fields, hills, and rivers you see in a natural, wild farm property. The most important traits of Natural Meat Company’s sandwich meats are branded on the front of the package although you can find more traits in further detail on the back of
the package.

After finalizing the design, I created a process book to track my work up to the finished piece, covering my thought process, type exploration, and design iterations.
